Recently I conducted some performance tests with LabVIEW DSC 7.1 and the "Read Traces.vi". The underlying Citadel DB had 20 Analog Tags with about 330'000 Samples each. On a Pentium 3.4 GHz Workstation I got a data rate of about 100'000 TVQ samples (Time/Value/Quality)when retrieving data. Typically, our machine monitoring applications produce about 100'000 samples per tag/month, so retrieving all values stored during one year would take about 12 seconds for one single tag only. Unfortunately, our application needs to read the raw data quite often for modeling and statistic purposes, and I am already deadbanding the data as much as possible.
Beside this, LabVIEW DSC would be an very good choice for our application. Is there something I can do to optimize the read performance?
