Hello all,
I am trying to read an audio signal from a microphone using a CompactRIO and LabVIEW. The only way I can see to do it is using an analog module, but I it still is not very clear to me how to achieve this. If anyone has done this before or has any advice please give me a shout. Thank you.

Hi Brandon,
Could you please provide a little more details? You are most likely going to use an analog input module. What types of ranges are you looking for? How accurate does it need to be? Do you know what type of microphone you are using? For a starter, you can look at some of our analog input cRIO modules.
Also, know that if you need help selecting a module to purchase, you can have NI call you or dial NI Sales at (888) 280-7645.
Cheers,

Part of the problem is I do not know what type of ranges I will be looking at. I have never used audio signals at this level. This the microphone I plan to use:

We will need to purchase an NI analog input module, and I am trying to find out the voltage range needed by our sensors in order to determine the best one to buy. I have looked at microphone output online but can't find any indicator of what to expect. I figured this might be kind of a long shot but I don't know what else to do.

Hi Brandon,
Taking a quick look at the manual, it also seems to indicate that you will need to be supplying the microphone some sort of "bias power". I'd recommend contacting Aquarian and asking for some more specifications and instructions for this microphone as a starting point. You'll need to know more about this bias power and the types of signals you are expecting from the microphone itself.
