Hi,
I am starting a project with Labview 8.6.
My aim is to capture real time image/video and then push them to some kind of data server . I do not need fast capture rate, 10 frames/s is enough for me. Image resolution do not need to be high neither.
I am confused now. Do I need a image aquisition card or some kind of driver or software will work? I will not process the image/video. Thanks.

Hi mukes,
Thanks for your reply. If I would like to control the camera to pan, tilt and zoom, what kind of camera should I get? Do I need a IMAQ card?
It seems to me that normal cameral, driver, and some control software will do.
Am I right? Thank you.

Hi Oly,
What is meant by a "normal camera" the camera that you chose has to support the features you want" pan, tilt and zoom" and it all depends how it does it! Also, controlling the mechanisms for all those features will be different if you want to physically pan, tilt and zoom. So to sum up the camera motion will be controlled by a different device , it all depends on the hardware and functionality. Here is a Link to Choosing the Right Camera Bus
Thanks and have a great day.
