Hi,
I have a 3.7GB tdx file containing important data, but the tdm file is empty. All my other files are fine and I have only just noticed this one (though it's probably the second most important one). Have I got any hope whatsoever of recovering the tdx data?
I wondererd if I could recreate the tdm file, as I know EXACTLY what process will have created this one, and so could repeat it and copy and paste the new file. Does anyone know if this would work, or have any other ideas? (I asking here as Idon't want to spend loads of time doing it if it won't work).
Thank you very much for your help, I could really do with this data,
James

Hi James,
Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately there is no way to recover the raw tdx data if the tdm file is lost. The tdx file is effectively raw binary data and without the meta data contained within the tdm file there is no way to determine it's meaning. This therefore also means you cannot create the tdm file from the tdx file alone.
If you are able to recreate exactly the same tdm file as originally used with the tdx file concerned, that would be the easiest solution in this scenario and should allow you to view the data.
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
Kind Regards
