Regain Remote panel licenses

I bought a 5 license pack for remote panel access. It was working great.

I added a wireless PCI card so I could forget the ethernet. Now when I look in the license manager it tells me "Activated for a different computer". How do I get my licenses back?

Thanx,
Norm

You're probably going to have to either call or email NI support to have the license transfered.

Even though it's on the same PC, I believe the license is tied to the MAC address of the network card. So now it thinks it's running on a different PC since it sees a different MAC address.

I don't they will charge for the call, but I'm not sure. Your best bet would be to try email. Start at the NI Support page and select "Email NI" on the right side of the page.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

Hi Norm!

Before emailing or calling into support (if you haven't already done so), you might want to try re-activating your Remote Panel licenses online to save you some time. To do so, go to the Product Activation and Licensing page and select LabVIEW->LabVIEW Remote Panel Connection. Then click "Activate Product" and fill in all of your information! Like I said, this might save you some time!!

Hope this helps!
