Hello Jim,

The Rename Worksheet VI is located under All Functions >> Report Generation >> Excel Specific >> Excel Advanced.

Both the Add Worksheet VI and the Get Worksheet VI are located under All Functions >> Report Generation >> Excel General.

The Append Table to Report VI is located under All Functions >> Report Generation.

A quick way to find where these VIs are located is to use the Search tool in LabVIEW. Right click on the block diagram, and on the upper right hand side of the Functions pallette there is a search button. There you can type in the name of the VI you would like to find, and LabVIEW will locate it for you.

Hello Wendy, I have Labview 7.1 Prof. Dev. System, but do not have Report Generation/Excel General, Excel Specific or Excel Advanced. Why is this toolset not included ? I made a mistake and do have Append Table to Report. I was looking at my other version of Labview (6I) at the time.

Thanks Wendy,

Hello Jim,

First check to see if you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed. You can check by going to your Windows Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> National Instruments >> Change. If you don't have a NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit entry in the list that appears, then go ahead and reinstall your Report Generation Toolkit.

If you do have an entry for the Report Generation Toolkit, check to see if you have support installed for your version of Office. You can do this by going to your Windows Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> National Instruments >> Change >> NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit >> Modify. From there, you can install support for the necessary versions of Office.

If neither of those options work, I
would uninstall and reinstall the toolkit from the Add/Remove Programs utility.

Hello Wendy, reinstalled Labview 7.1 and selected all utilities, but still didn't have any luck ? Looks like another software package must be purchased (Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office) ?

Hello Jim,

You are correct. The Report Generation Toolkit provides more advanced VIs that the standard VIs that ship with LabVIEW 7.1 Base.

The following document describes the differences and gives pricing information for the Report Generation Toolkit.
