Retriggerable pulse generation drifts

I have configured a PCI-6602 counter as a digital pulse (Frequency/Duty Cycle) output.  I have configured it to be retriggerable on input pulses (from the Z signal of a motion encoder).  I measure the frequency of the input pulses and set my output pulse to be 2x that frequency.  If I sit and watch the input and output pulses on a 'scope with a constant Z frequency,I can see that the output pulses bounce around the trigger point of the input pulses and eventually drift to fall after the input pulse.  I need the pulses to line up - how do I encourage my board to synchronize the signals?

Thanks!

Hi David,

I think it will be easier to help if you could post your code.  Also, I'm assuming you're using DAQmx and LV 7.1 or above.  Finally, there is a dedicated hardware board for counters/timers.  You should always try to post to the most appropriate board and I would encourage you to repost your original question to that board along with the suggestions I've provided.
