SCXI 1125 in parallel mode to acquire 1Ms/s from a channel

Dear All

I'm working on some experiments on Stain analysis and there is that experiment that requires me to acquire 1000 Samples in a 1ms interval since there will be an instantaneous impact in such time interval.

i was adviced to use the SCXI 1125 module , and use it in parallel mode (since it's maximum Sampling rate is 333 KS/s), and using the MIO but i have to check the Bandwidth of the SCXI to be the Bandwidth of interest.. if there is any further explanation for this advice please help

and will the parallel mode provide me such sampling rate (1MS/s) ?

attached is the graph of the experiment , as shown below within the Red rectangles is where i want to acquire the 1000 Samples

Hello Mohammed,

Using the module in parallel mode will eliminate the multiplexing of all the channels of your SCXI module to be read by one channel on your DAQ card.  Therefore, parallel mode will allow the module to run at its highest possible rate.  That being said, it will not enable it to sample faster than its maximum sampling rate (in this case 333 kS/s).

Can you explain a little more about what you are trying to accomplish?  Are you just acquiring from one channel, or multiple channels?  Do you need signal conditioning or are you just trying to acquire the signal exactly as it is?  SCXI is typically used for either high channel count applications, or for the signal conditioning that is available on the modules.  If you are simply trying to acquire from one channel (or a small number of channels), then you probably don't need SCXI, just the DAQ card.
