I have a query regarding connecting flow meter to SCXI-connector block. A signal converter is used in between flow meter and DAQ board to convert Frequency to Analog. This converter gives output of +/-10V.
Right now i am using two flow meters and connecting to SCXI-1302 and corresponding mapping to PCI-6036E card like,
Flow meter PCI-6036E SCXI-1302
1 PFI 9/CTR 0 GATE(line number 3) 48
2 PFI 4/CTR 1 GATE(line number 41) 42
Now the problem is, if i want to connect 2 more flow meters. I see there are no channels like PFI*/CTR* GATE but there
are PFI*/CTR* SRC.
What can be done, can i use PFI-/CTR* SRC or only PFI*/CTR* GATE should be used.
Pls post your suggestions regarding this.
Thanks
Kirit

Hi Kirit,
I'm sorry, but i do not understand your setup. You have mentioned that you have the PCI 6036E and the SCXI 1302. The SCXI 1302 is just a connector block. What SCXI module are you using along with the 1302?
Since you have mentioned a frequency to voltage converter, you should be using the SCXI 1126 module. But the SCXI 1302 is not a compatible connector block for the 1126.
Another possibility is that you are using the SCXI 1180 feedthough panel and the SCXI 1302 connector block to route the signals from you DAQ card to the connector block.
If this is the case, then there are only two counters available on the PCI 6036E.
Also is there any reason you are using the counters?? the F to V converter you have mentioned is giving you a +/-10. You could acquire this data on your analog input channels.
Kindly give more clarity into your system setup.
