SPECS FOR : PCI 7030/6040E

Can any one tell me if i can generate a 10,000 Hz Sine wave using PCI 7030/6040E RT series DAQ board?

I know the maximum sampling was listed as 500Ks/S. But i don't understand this notation.

Pls help me out.

Thanks

Actually if you look at the specs, the output rate is what you want and the output is rated at 1Ms/s.

According to Nyquist, the minimum sampling rate required to reproduce a signal is twice the desired frequency. In your case, you would need a minimum of 20Ks/s to output a 10 Khz signal. Now, at only 20Ks/s, you're not going to have a signal that looks exactly like a sine wave. The higher the sample rate, the "purer" the sine wave output. Try a sample rate of 10x (100Ks/s). That's 1/10 the maximum of the board. Play around with the Simulate Signal Express VI to see the effects of different sample rates.
