Hello,
I want to calculate the signal energy distribution of a signal using the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) algorithm. I want to know the suitable indicator for displaying the (STFT) output data in labview NXG ?

In CG there's the intensity graph.
If it's not in NXG yet, you might be out of luck.

The intensity graph does exist: http://www.ni.com/documentation/en/labview/4.0/ctrl-ref/intensity-graph-control/?prodref=LabVIEW-NXG...

OT: Can we hide the color ramp? Can we hide the scales yet (this wasn't possible in 2.0)?
I guess the picture overlay is not going to happen for a while (if ever)?

Yes, in LabVIEW NXG 4.0 you can hide the color ramp, axis label, scale labels and tick marks.
To hide the color ramp:
To hide the scales, select the scale to view the Axis configuration pane. You can uncheck "Label visible" and set the Scale Labels and Tick marks to "None."
We have the plot area picture overlay in our backlog, but I'd love to learn about your use cases to help me prioritize it appropriately. Can you tell me more about what they would enable you to do in your UIs? If you prefer, we can arrange a time to discuss over the phone. Thanks!

Please see the presentation "Beyond Graph Limits" attached in that post.
I also use it for custom cursors, like selection of a rectangle of data. I'd be crippled without it.
Feel free to PM me to make an appointment to call, skype, or meet at the ECLA or NIDays (no NIWeek for me this year 😞).
