Sampllling of a continuous signal

I want to generate a discrete type signal.I am taking a continuous type sinusiodal signal as an input and then want to  get discrte value of say 10 samples or of length10.bcoz i want to further use this sinusoidal values in further VI  as an input.

What should be the approach.

1.Select wfm generation and den take sine wave,.
2. then what thing to do use formula waveform function or build waveform function or if there is any ither things present.

Have you had a look through the included LabVIEW examples? I often find them really helpful for things like this.

If you click 'Help' and then 'Find Examples...' the 'NI Example Finder' will load. You can search for key terms on the left-hand side. I'd reccommend only using one or two key words.

In this case I found an example called 'CDEx Continuous to Discrete Conversion' which 'demonstrates the different ways you can use to discretize a continuous system.'

Have a look and see if this forms a good basis or helps with your application.
