With Windows 10, there seems to be finally a transition from a bitmap based gui to a vector graphics based one. Consequently, (at least to some extend) one can sale the display i.e. to be adopt it to 4K screens. My impression so far with Labview front panels is that they behave very badly upon any scaling. Particularly, scaling the font size completely messes up the front panel. Is there a way to scale the front panel without messing it up and keep it reable, or is there a developemnt on the way for a more flexible and hardware resolution independent front panel?

Not at the moment - you can make resizeable windows with clever use of panes & splitters to resize certain areas (e.g. graphs) but the 'size all objects with pane' option can lead to some horrible scaling artifacts. Things like vector font / object scaling are not really supported well in LabVIEW. The other workaround is to make different UI VI for different resolutions etc.
I suspect that it is probably something that NI is working on...but probably not likely to see anything in the immediate future.
