Scene Window with Multiple Video Cards?

Hi,

I'm using the 3d Picture Control and displaying images using the scene window (the video hardware-accelerated window).  The original video card was a Nvidia Quadro FX370 (PCI-express slot).  I added a second video card, a Nvidia GeForce 6200 (PCI slot).  Now the scene window will only render on displays connected to the second video card.  When moved to a display on the original card, no scene is displayed and the window latches on to the background.  Does anyone have any experience with this or have any suggestions?

TIA,
Joe

Hi Joe,

It seems as though there may be a conflict between the drivers for the two video cards. Since the video cards are made by the same company there may be some shared files between the driver and when they both try accessing the file it could be creating an errorous situation. The first step I would take is to ensure that you have the most up to date drivers for both video cards to verify that this situation has not already been fixed. Next to identify if your video cards are in fact sharing files:

  1. Right click on My Computer and select properties to bring up the System Properties
  2. Click on the Device Manager under the Hardware tab
  3. Once the device manager is populated expand the display adapters and select one of your video card drivers
  4. Right click and bring up its property window
  5. Go to the Driver tab and click on the Driver Details to bring up all of the files the driver uses
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the other video card driver and compare to see if it shares any files

Please reply and let me know the results of this process. This will help us to more specifically identify our issue.

Thanks and have a great night!
