Selection takes long to appear

Why does the dashed rectangle take long time to appear and my cursor freezes for a few seconds when I make a selection with the selection tool in the diagram window of a VI with LabVIEW 6.1?

I am not able to reproduce this behavior.
Do you see the cursor freeze when you try to select a particular peace of code?
Can you post a VI that has such code.
