I am working with a LabVIEW RT System (Desktop PC converted into RT). I wish to communicate with RT system via serial port. Is it possible to have a serial port communication as with normal PC (with LabVIEW VISA) ?. My RT system is not showing existed serial ports in Measurement & Automation explorer (in development system) window. How can I view and use serial ports ?. In the given FAQ link it is specified that serial port communication is possible with RT system, but they have given for only 8156B and 8170 controllers (http://www.ni.com/support/labview/real-time/faq.htm). In my RT system serial ports are with CPU.
Hi all... Sorry, I didn't install NI serial R.T. driver, which is mandatory to work with any serial port on RT system (either of CPU's or NI's). I didn't know it previously.
