Servo Interface (9514) Example

Hi,

I have a CompactRIO with a controller 9024, a chassis 9118, a module 9514 (servo) and a module 9237(load cell). I need to control my actuator in closed loop with the encoder or the load cell. My test are 20 days long. The actuator is doing a sinewave of 1,5 Hz and some slow ramp commands.

The example Servo Interface (9514) use the FPGA to do the control. Do I need that? If I take the FPGA VI and drop it into the RT part, will I be limitated?

Thank you

Math50,

You have two options when running your motion control.  You can run it in FPGA interface mode or Scan Interface mode.  You may benefit from looking through the getting started manual for the 9514.

I'm not sure what you mean by "dropping the FPGA VI into the RT part".  If you have questions after looking through the manual.  Please let me know.
