Setting up RTD task.

I have configured the RTD task in MAX, but when I run the "test", the values for temp are way off.  The sensor is a 3-wire RTD, 100 ohm resistance, type PT3851.  I am  using SCC module RTD01, with a 1mA excitation to power the sensor.  Also the "test" graph is just a straight line, and not fluctuating with the ambient temperature (or resistance changes from the sensor).

Hi jwhite,

After you have configured your task in MAX, can you switch to the connection diagram tab at the bottom of the window and check to be sure that all of your wires are connected correctly?  Could you swap out your RTD to see if it is not functioning?  If that does not work, try using the other channel of the RTD module.  Finally, try the RTD module in a different slot of the carrier.

Let us know how it goes!

Laura,

Thanks for the prompt response.  What ended up causing the problem was a wiring issue with the sensor.  I was getting a signal, but I think it was a loose connection.  If all else fails, just wiggle the wires around, right?  Well that's what I did, and now I'm getting the correct reading.  Thanks again!
