Hi everyone,
I've been searching a little bit about this feature, but I can't find anywhere to disable by default "Size to Text" on Free Labels on Block Diagram (I think also in FP).
When I am typing in Free Labels inside smaller structures, it is kind annoying of trying to resize them later (Auto grow is off).
Is there a way in LabVIEW.ini or anywhere else to disable Size to Text by default? Apparently I can't find it (I am using LV2017).
Regards,

Pretty sure there isn't a way to change the default. It did come up before...
I feel your pain. I usually type a letter, resize to turn off the size to text AND to give it a proper size, then type my text.
But if Size To Text would be off off by default, what would be a good size for the non-growing label? A manual resize would still be needed almost always. So we'd still require a manual resize. It might not be that much better.
EDIT: And of course auto grow off is just evil 😇.

Hehehe, that's a point. But I really prefer resizing then right clicking every time. But, an INI parameter would be enough for me.

About Auto Grow: don't you like hiding source code in structures? 😂

Turning Auto Grow off may be evil, but leaving it on is definitely maniacal. In my workflow, if it is on, it tends to always blow up in ways I don't want it to. I prefer to manually size my structures.

I also do not know of a way to turn off Size to Text by default.
I know this is a workaround and not a solution, but you could always make a Quickdrop Plugin to drop a free label and automatically turn off S2T when it is placed. If you do want to go that route, this post may give you some direction.
Saying "Thanks that fixed it" or "Thanks that answers my question" and not giving a Kudo or Marked Solution, is like telling your waiter they did a great job and not leaving a tip. Please, tip your waiters.
