Skype Call in LabVIEW

Hey guys,

I'm trying to do something that should be very simple: make a call using Skype API.

I can successfully run the example VI from here, but the Skype call shows up like this:

I have tried this with Python and VBA as well with the same weird call target. Jemorris55 is my username, but the rest of it is jibberish to me. The input target user doesn't seem to affect what shows up as the target.

Has anyone here successfully made a Skype call with LabVIEW?

(my Skype is version 7.33.0.105, using LabVIEW 2015)

I have explored this vi a little but I was unable to get it to interact with LabVIEW. I will be speaking to others to see if anyone has familiarity with this. I'll get back to you soon.

Thank you, Anthony! When you say "interact with LabVIEW", do you mean you weren't able to get LabVIEW to interact with Skype? What I need in the end is for LabVIEW to be able to tell Skype to make a call and then be able to monitor whether the call was successful, received a busy signal, etc. This VI seems to be able to tell that the call is started and then fails, it's just the target of the call that is incorrect.

Sorry for the late reply. I worked with the example a bit but I could not even get LabVIEW to pull up Skype.

I spoke with several other engineers but no one has experience with this example. I would recommend contacting the engineer who created the example, their contact information is on the bottom of the page you linked.

Thanks for the help, Anthony! I never had an issue with Skype opening, just the functionality after LV and Skype are talking to each other.

I'll reach out and post back here if anything comes of it.
