Solartron 1255 FRA, msmt speed?

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the
Solartron 1255 Frequency response analyzer. I am
trying to do measurements in the MHz range and
I am finding that the time spent per frequency
seems to be about 1/2s even though in the MHz
range that's millions of oscillations. Has anyone
had success at getting better performance in
this frequency range?

please remember that the 1255 is an old instrument and has a slow setup and readout.

Hello,

I think you should first check the values of the following options in your
software :
* Number of cycles performed before effective cycling measurement.
* Waiting (stabilizing) time before effective cycling measurement.
These options help you to get more accurate measurements.

But, which kind of electrochemical phenomena do you expect to measure in MHz
range ?

Best regards.

Good point ... even though I thought the default was 0.2 cycles it may
not be!

There are two answers to this. The facetious one is that Andrzej Baranski
at Usask is actually doing thin film work at these frequencies although
I have not read up on what he is actually doing. The honest answer is

that I am abusing the system for other things.
