Start Mobile camera using LabVIEW

Hi all,

I am building one application in which I would be using my Mobile camera (3.2 MP 1600x1200res) to acquire images using Vision VIs at a defined rate, and then process those images in a sequential manner. I am searching for external commands for my mobile to start the camera, but soon as I get it, would I be able to start the camera using LabVIEW/Vision? How can we do it?

Is there any possibility I can build such kind of application?

Thanks!

What is the OS of your cell phone? If you have the Windows Mobile OS, you should be able to run the Picture Function VIs. In the Picture Functions palette, it has the Camera Capture VI which launches the camera application on the target running Windows Mobile if the target supports picture and/or video capability. You can, then, transfer these images back to a host that supports NI Vision and do analysis on those images there. Have a look at the Picture Functions VIs provided in the LabVIEW Mobile Module.

I have a Samsung S5600 preston series mobile. I could manually send the commands to start the mobile camera.

But my question is, how can LabVIEW transfer the pics fm a non-windows phone?

Another workaround I thought of is to use a memory card and get a way around to acess the card and transfer images to vision....

Pls let me know if there are any more possibilities for this app

I tested it with a “Samsung Galaxy ACE” and it worked perfectly.

HI,

1. you managed to install the IP camera adapter?.

2 .if you already I run it, what message goes to press the "Autodetect"?.

3. Did you observe this link? Especially some reported problems with some antivirus. (NOD32 for example).

4. Have you rebooted? "Measurement and Automation Explorer - MAX

@Goldy,

You just bumped up a 4 year old thread! 🙂

The Galaxy S2 could be mounted to your windows system as a mass storage device.

Once you mount your phone as a mass storage device, you can access the the images in your S2 through LabVIEW just like you do it with any other storage device.

I had installed IP adapter and when i click on auto detect it detect the resolution and give a message that camera working ok and pick the resolution of the IP camera settings automatically. but when i press ok it write a notification to reboot the software using camera to see effect.

Then i close my MAX and restart it but i cnt find my camera any where i tried it atleast 1 hour regularly......... 😞 and i daily practice it fr somtime then i leave it bcz no result...
