Tbob,

 

Are you using LV 2009 or LV 2009 service pack 1?

 

You might be seeing this bug http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/LabVIEW-2009-Crash-when-save-for-previous/m-p/994228  CAR#183005.

 

It looks like it was fixed with SP1.

Thanx for the tip RF.  I don't have SP1 installed.  Guess I'll go download it and install it now.  So its the event structure that causes the problem.  I've saved for previous versions before without crashing, but they must not have had the event structure in them.
