State diagram editor in 8.2

I had the state diagram editor in 7.1, but I can't find any reference to it in 8.2. Is it still an ad-on? Or since I added-it on in 7.1 do I have to purchase the ad-on again for 8.2? Thanks.

The editor is installed with the State Diagram Toolkit which I receive as part of the Professional Developer Suite. However, the toolkit is, I think, still at version 1.0, so you should be able to reinstall it for LabVIEW 8.2 from your original media. Note that the easiest way I've found to deal with this toolkit is to uninstall and then reinstall because the installer will not install the toolkit for 8.2 if it is already installed for an earlier version of LabVIEW. (This is because the toolkit is registered with Windows on my machine.)

I was mistaken. We have no purchased 'ad-ons' per se since we've had the PDS since 6.1. But your solution sounds kind of clunky and makes me a little nervous. We've had some trouble over here updating to 8.2 with all the ad-ons. I wonder how many more of them need to be deleted in older revisions just so they' ll show up in 8.2. Smiley Indifferent I'm always a little nervous committing to a revision of software that's less than a year old. Smiley Happy

I agree completely. The fact is I'm not yet using the state diagram editor for serious work, so it wasn't a problem for me. There absolutely should be a way to install it for 8.2 without disabling it for earlier releases on the same machine. Unfortunately, I don't know how.

Just an update ... I uninstalled the State Diagram Editor from 7.1 and installed it in 8.2. It seems to work fine. Now if I can just keep 8.2 from crashing as often .... Smiley Indifferent
