Hey folks....I'm 100% disabled Vet...66 years old. Due to being "homebound" and an eye issue, I'm unable to attend college classes. I use Labview on occasion before I was forcibly retired....I'm trying to obtain either the straight student edition or the student suite but without student documentation and no realistic means of being a student (unless I do something online as continuing education...IF that will suffice), how can I obtain a legal copy of the software. I have no formal need for it other than to pursue my own, hobbyist type interests. Is there not a subscription of some type I can sign up for or get a copy outright? I have products from Adobe and Microsoft on subscription basis, definitely not free but less than a big chunk out of pocket at one time.
Is there a way to to do this that is acceptable? Would a online programming course suffice? I'd hate to unnecessarily pay for a course that was triple the cost of the Labview software.
Any suggestions? I checked with Studica and they said without some type of proof of being a student, they could not sell to me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Tim

Read this thread posted at the top of the LabVIEW forum.
While it is not the "student" edition, it is free, includes all the tools you'd want to use, and there are lots of online tutorials and courses.

As mentioned, the Community edition is what you're after (and i'm looking forward to it). In the mean time, run the evaluation of 2019 and/or apply for the 2020 beta program. 🙂

I guess the surprise release worked - it surprised you. 😄
They told us to sit on the news until release time.

I also just saw an e-mail that the regular online courses that were offered for free until the end of April, are now extended through May.
