Sub vi slows execution time

I have a sub vi that slows execution time of the main vi. The trouble come in that if i were to paste the contents of the sub vi into my main the program runs fast.  The difference in execution speed is large.  The sub vi is farily simple with no graphics or high volume communication.  It simply passes a couple of boulon values to the main and vice versa. There is a lot of local variables and proporty nodes, so i suspect this is the problem, however, the fact is when i cut and paste the contents of the sub vi into the main vi everything runs great! Any quick suggestions would be very helpfull.

The quick suggestion is to get rid of local variables and property nodes. Both run in the UI thread and can slow the performance of the subVI.

For a better answer, please post your VI with some typical data and specifics about your problem. Someone will probably be able to help.
