System Exec returns Error code 0xC1

When I try to bring up a help file (blah.chm) thru system exec,
nothing shows up on the screen and an error code 0xc1 is returned.
I tried launching notepad, that works fine. I can launch the chm
file from a command prompt, works fine also. A chm file is a compiled
help file, which windows knows how to bring up as an application. Can
anybody tell me why it may not work like any other windows executables
via system exec?

Thanks,

Ratin

Dear Ratin,

which statement do you use to bring up the CHM file? You know that the Help functions from the Application Control>>Help palette can handle CHM? So its normally no need to call a CHM through SystemExec. Do you use it from runtime or application environment? There are some bugs in the Help Viewer called the "Relative path bug" and the "Working directory bug".

Sorry to be late or the post.
I used the whole path to the chm - i.e. c:\blah\Blah.chm. It wasnt doing it.

I got it working using Joe's Runapp.vi (below)

Thanks a bunch.
