TCP Read: there is a red dot on the "mode" terminal

On my VI, I connect a constant with a value of 3 to the "mode" terminal of the "TCP Read" item.  I get a red dot on the "mode terminal, no matter what representation I use for the constant.

Does anyone have an example of connecting a non-default value to the "mode" terminal, where the red-dot does not appear?

As the on-line help shows, that input is an enum. Just right click on the input and select 'Create>Constant'. You can do this or 'Create>Control' for any input of any VI. If you have an output, you can select 'Create>Indicator'.

Oh ok great! Thanks!

My problem was that I was actually creating the constant/enum (I tried with both creating the constant and also creating an "enum" via the Functions>Numeric palette) and the red-dot was alwasys there. But by rightclicking onthe input itself the enum with state names appeared.

Thanks again
