TDM Excel addin with files that have more than 256 columns

Hi. I am writing files using TDMS and later would like to view them in Excel.  If I have a data file that is more than 256 columns and want to view the data in excel, am I out of luck?  It seems the TDMS addin can not handle a file with more than 256 columns.  I know this is a limitation in Excel, in the past for ASCII files,  I have used macros to put anything beyond 256 on the next sheet.  Should I  just forget TDM and use the old Write to Spreadsheet File.vi?

The Excel AddIn creates a new sheet for every group contained in the TDM/TDMS file, so floating channels to the next sheet will break this concept. With Excel 2007 this will no longer be a problem and the new version of the AddIn for Excel 2007 support will be available soon. If you're willing to volunteer for beta testing this new version, please let me know by wrinting an email to Stefan.Romainczyk@ni.com.
