No VIs or functions have the black arrow to indicate a terminal and still even beginners know how to connect a wire.
IMHO, small black blobs should be reserved for buffer allocation dots, they make no sense on plain terminals. Do you have a good argument why we need it??
(My laptop is a 15" display with 1400x1050 resolution, It's hard to tell a tiny black triangle from a black square anyway :D)

We could also graphically represent the dimensions, such as:
(the last would be for 3D and higher).
