Test a prototype hw with Labview

Hi

We would like to use Labview to test a HW prototype functionalities but We have never used Labview  (We are a newby in Labview).

Our idea is to use the Labview SW with a NI HW solution to be able to stimulate our prototype.

We are doing flow meters and we would like to simulate the pipe flow with the Labview on a PC e deliver the Analog/digital inputs (analog/digital output sfrom the NI HW)

to our prototype (microcontrolled based) running the application.

After the processing in our hw we would like to read the flow calculated through serial communication into labview SW in the PC.

The serial communication has to be in the RS485 or RS 232 with up to 1000 Kbits speed using our own protocol (Master Slave serial protocol based on Modbus protocol)

Can you suggest a Labview + HW solution for implementing this PC test based environment?

Please we would like to evaluate a possible solution asap.

Is it possible eventually to have a Labview evaluation version?

I'm sure that we have a solution for your application. What you are trying to do is a well tested and documented way to control a device/prototype with Labivew and NI DAQ boards(Analog/Digital operations). Then using Modbus interface to readback values from the prototype. We can provide you a wide range of solutions depends on your system platform, runtime environment and etc. If you are interested, we do also provide Labview training at your local NI office.
