Testing a RS485 device with LabVIEW

Hi guys,
I have a Lego NXT and I wanted to test the high speed port available (port 4 has rs-485 capability) so I wanted to use LabVIEW to test it.

I have a usb to rs-485 converter and LabVIEW at my University.

So all I need is a simple vi that would ping the NXT or something to that effect to test the life of the connection.

Does anyone have one I could use to test with, or instead would you be able to point me in the right direction?

Hello, i think you need as first an easy communicator like Hyperterminal. I wrote a simple example for Hyperterminal in LabVIEW. Try it.
