The File ABC.vi is not a VI. Select another?

When I attempt to open some of my VIs, I get an error: The file abc.vi is not a VI. Select another?

Does it actually say "abc.vi"? Sometimes when I save a VI, it doesn't put the .vi extension, so when I try to open it, it won't open. I have to manually rename the file to put the .vi extension, and then it will open.

Why Do I Get "The file xxx.vi is not a VI. Select another?" on Windows 2000?

If these KnowledgeBases do not address the issue, we will need to look more in depth on what has changed since the VI was last successfully opened.
