You should have choosen the Custom Installation of BridgeVIEW and
deselct any hardware drivers. The NI-DAQ drivers which come with
BridgeVIEW are A LOT older than the ones which come with LabVIEW 6.1.
Of course the installer should care but the problem is also that the
installer technology used for those two versions is entirely different
so the old installer is most probably not aware that there is a newer
version already installed.
