Thread Message Sequence -is it local server time recieved

Hi all
Whilst reading responses to Ray Farmers thread - problem with append path- noticed that
messages from respondants were not in a logical time order.
In fact appeared to jump backwards and forwards. Is this normal ?

What time reference is used for messages recieved ? Is it time sent  locally( respondee) or time recieved locally server ?

You have a choice: Go to "thread options" above the first post and you can select either:
  1. Sort messages by threading
  2. Sort messages newest.to oldest

You can also make the preferences more permanent in your profile: look for "Linear Format Settings" in the preferences tab.

And to expand some more - if you click the blue Reply button (at the top of the thread), you reply will appear at the end of the thread (at least in principle, there are bugs). If you click one of the black reply buttons found in each post, your reply will be posted to the end of the "sub thread" (that's the "thread" created by people replying to the same message). Because the forum does not have an indented look, this looks confusing.
