Topmost VI

Where do I find the Topmost VI? I've recently upgraded to Labview 2012 and I used to have it under Labview 2010 but I do not see it. I think it used to be under user libaries.

Is there a place where I can download these VIs?

Are you talking about OpenG VIs or some other library?  Those are usually installed via VI Package Manager.

Are you talking about the call chain or about the z ordering of the front panels on the screen?

To be honest, I am not really sure. I used to wire the VI.Name propety node string directly to the VI. It might be Frontmost VI? It has been a while since I revisited this code and found out the VI was missing when some upgrades were needed.

I think i downloaded it somewhere that was used in a eariler version of Labview and it worked with later versions.

Hi Eric,

when you recently upgraded to a new version of LabVIEW you surely also recently made a backup of all your work. I would start looking for your VI in the backup folder.

When you upgraded your LabVIEW you probably didn't uninstall the older LV version. If that's the case simply look there for your VI.

Both are trivial, but elementary hints...

Best regards,
GerdW
