Triggered DATA acquisition

is there a way to obtain and collect data using an external optical
encoder trigger (generates TTL square wave). I have a BNC 2090 and
AT-MIO-16E daq board. I thought a vi. called "Acquire N Scans
ExtScanClk D-Trig" would work, but for some reason, its not working.
can some one familiar with the setting be my saviour? thanks. Sam.

That example requires two types of triggers. One starts the acquisition process and the other is the scan clock for each sample. It sounds like you only need the second type. Therefore, use the "Acquire N Scans ExtScanClk" example (note the lack of "D-Trig").

Thanks for responding. You are correct. I have two digital triggers
coming in from the optical encoder. One to start the signal which
comes every 360 pulses and the second set is continous squre wave
which comes as the encoder rotates each degree. I have a BNC 2090
external connector and AT-MIO-16E-2 daq board. I just dont know where
to plug the two digital signals in. If you know anything about this,
please help me out. I would be sincerely grateful. Roshan shrestha.
