UFF Specifications?

Hello, I am trying to find the specifications for the UFF-58 (ascii) file format. As far as I know, there are several VI's available in the Sound and Vibration suite/toolkit that handle UFF I/O but at the moment that is not a feasible option. The link on this page, http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4463#toc1 HAD a link to the UFF specifications but if you follow the link, it states that the page isn't available anymore.

Anyone have a good source on the file specifications for UFF-58?

Thank You

I think the link you are looking for is at the bottom of this page:

Thanks for the quick reply. This looks like it will work good.

Any chance you have a link to an example file as a basic reference?
If not it is ok as the specs should be just fine but it never hurts to have an example 🙂

Thanks Again

If you have the Sound and Vibration Toolkit or Measurement Suite, there will be an example UFF file in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Sound and Vibration Assistant\Examples

That is the only one that I know of.

Thanks for the attempt Jeff L, but as I stated in my first post, i do not have access to the Sounds and Vibration toolkit nor any of the examples.

Just looking for a *.uff  file of any sort, not necessarily even a LV code at the moment. The specs that were linked eariler are basically how I am going to program a VI to output (hopefully that is the plan of attack). Having an example code isn't necessary but just a nice little extra.

Thank You for your response.

I'm attaching a .uff file created from the "Write UFF58 (Simluated File Waveform)" Sound & Vibration toolkit shipping example. Hopefully that will allow you to see what you want. It couldn't be posted as .uff, so I changed the extension to .doc. Just download it and change it back.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the file Mark.

Unfortuantely this is a uff-58b file (binary output instead of regular uff-58 which is ascii). This still gives me a good understand as it follows almost the same exact format as the uff-58 specs. It might turn out that creating a VI to output into uff-58 specs will not be that difficult, just going to take a little bit of time.

Thank you for your response

Hi labviewpsu,

I was using our UFF58 shipping example and assumed that it would be UFF58, not UFF58b, but have since realized this is the only format I'm able to output. Hopefully you can do what you need with that. If you need anything more, please repost. Best of luck with your application.
