USB 6001 Analog Voltage not working

Hello,

I am using a USB 6001 to try control an actuator, the actuator I am using is the 50mm stroke option in below link:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/actuonix/Actuonix+L12+Datasheet.pdf

It requires 6V power and 0-5V for control. I am using SPD3303X-E programmable power supply to provide the power supply for the actuator. Therefore, I am just using the USB 6001 to send a voltage to the actuator for control.

However, I am unable to get the actuator to move at all. Occasionally, the motor will whirl but no movement, which seems like a lack of current issue, but that doesn't make sense to me as it already has power from the power supply. Please see images below for setup. I have used a multi-meter and can confirm a voltage is being output.

Additionally, I am able to get the actuator to work if I provide the 0-5V via a second channel on the power supply, please see image below.

I am really confused regarding what the issue is. Does anyone have any ideas about what it could be.

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated.

Kind regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

as the USB6001 is working as expected (by your DMM check) I guess the wiring on your connection board is wrong…

Best regards,
GerdW
