USB DAQ as external trigger

Hello,

I have a USB 6216 device, which I would like to use as a trigger for a timed loop. This did not work, the reason being that USB devices in general are not suitable as external triggers because of the large latency inherent to USB ports. So USB daqs make poor external triggers, fine. But for my application I don't really care about latency, and I don't see why it should be impossible.

So my question is, is there a way to bypass what seems to be arbitrary restrictions and to use the DAQmx Create Timing Source VI to send ticks to a timed loop, the external clock being pulses detected on one of the PFI ports?

Thanks,

Guillaume
