USB DRIVER FOR IMAQ

Alright, I sure appreciate everyones input on how to make my job easier.  Unfortunately I don't really have much time to work on USB support, and adding the string to the DLL only takes about 30 seconds (although writing to the discussion thread and updating adds another 30 seconds).  But for now, I am going to stick with this method until we come out with something better (unfortunatley I don't have a timeline, but believe me this isn't my preffered way of supporting USB either).

So, Thanks again for everyone's input on how to make this process better, but I think the time involved to make it better would exceed the current process.  As soon as we do have a more official driver, I'll make sure you all know about it and it definitely won't have this problem:>

hi,

I'm trying to distibute an application that using the USB IMAQ driver.
I have the deployment engine installed on the target machine and basically my application can be started. Unfortunately I get an error which I don't see on my development machine :

Error -1074396024 occurred at IMAQ USB Grab Setup.vi

Both development machine and target use WindowsXP English.
The application is build using Labview 7.1.1 and NI-Vision kit 8.

When I build the Grab with Property Page.vi and run that on my target machine I get a crash (exception occurred within the external code) indicating problems with this dll.

Does anyone have a solution for this ?

I managed to get the application working on the target machine, but only after installing the full development version of the NI-vision kit and vision assistant.

Can someone please tell me what is needed to distribute an application using these VI's ?

I expected I only needed the vision runtime engine but that doesn't work.

When I distributed my application I installed NI Vision Developer version 8.0 only to instal IMAQ for USB.

Then I removed developer engine and installed Vision 8.0  Runtime engine and also Labview 8.0 runtime engine.

Hi Andrzej,

That is exactly what I found on my system. My application also just keeps working after removing the development module. The strange things is that I first need to install it to make it work in the first place.

This raises some questions :

1) Is there something is missing in the Vision Runtime or Labview runtime ?

2) What is not being removed after removing the development engine ? 🙂

I'm currently making a list of all DLL that are being used. Hoping to find an answer to the above.

OK, I think the following works :

Install the vision development module
Install the vision runtime engine
Install the IMAQ USB driver
Install the application
Remove the vision development module (it is only need to install the IMAQ USB drivers).

Probably there's soemthing in the IMAQ USB driver package that is missing. I porbably can also directibute that with my application but I just need to know what it is ?

I think my problem is also an unsupport OS issue. The error code is just same with the author, but my OS is Simple Chinese XP with SP2. So, does any support or any solution for this OS? Before I saw this article, I have spent 1 weeks on investigating this problem, however, I can not recognise but an OS problem...

Hi Luo_Yi,

go to page 3 or 4 of this thread, and download a dll provided by NI. Then run your program, a pop-up with som language specific code will show up, post a screenshot of the pop-up and a new version (including chinese simplified) will show up.
