I am looking at how I can read a K type thermocouple via USB and produce a digital output signal for control . I have a USB 6008 and a USB 6501 currently. I would like to be able to plug a thermocouple module like the USB-TC01 or the NI-9211 in along with one of my DIO DAQs into USB ports at the same time, it this possible, will they play together? will either or both accept the prongs from a K type probe? I just have a PC no other stand alone NI chassis.
Thanks!

While I haven't used the USB-TC01 specifically, I have used multiple USB DAQ devices on one computer before with no issues and see no reason why the TC01 would be different.
Either the TC01 or the 9211 take K type thermocouples. For the 9211, you would have to cut off the miniplug and wire it directly to the card. The 9211 also needs a chassis to function, you could get a one slot USB chassis if you wanted. Take a look at this bundle,

Thanks for the information. Are there any devices like the USB-TC01 that take 4 probes and a K type plug will plug in?

Not that NI makes as far as I know. You could buy female mini plugs and K type wire if you need a quick disconnect on something like the 9211
