USB drive disconnect

Hi everybody

Since I am back in Belgium and with all the info from the forum I just did some more tests.

When I add a timed loop of 5 seconds the connection breaks off only after more than 15 minutes. If this occurs I can just stop the pomp of the Testo and start the VI again. I don't have to plug the USB in and out.

Maybe this is useful info. I have the impression that in the timed loop the some data clash occurs and as a result of this the communication breaks of.

Thanks in advance

Hello Vincent,

Can you try one thing?

Go into your timed loop and uncheck "Maintain Original Phase".

I would like to see if this might be the culprit.

Hi ThiCop

Just gave it a go.

It dropped out the connection, I Stopped the pump of the Testo started the pump again and I was able to run the VI again as long as I like. I just tried it with the loop back on 1 sec. It lost connection but much quicker, I stopped the pump and the connection was OK for as long as I like. It looks like once it is in the timed loop LabView is only able to receive a number of times data.

Hello Vincent,

I'm a bit confused about what you mean with this sentence:

"I stopped the pump and the connection was OK for as long as I like."

Hi ThiCop

  1. start pump on Testo
  2. Start LabView
  3. connection crashed
  4. stop pump on Testo
  5. connection was established again in good order
  6. vi run for a very long time

I did not stop the vi. I just keep the vi running and the data exchange started again after I stopped the pump and started again.

Thanks!!!!

Hello Vincent,

Can you send me the latest version of the VI that produces this result?

When you say "connection was established again in good order", what does this include?

Hi ThiCop

On the site of Testo I have downloaded the onlinereader of Testo. This shows also the measured data and it gives an indication if there is a Testo device connected to the computer. Here I can see if he finds a the testo and in other words establish a good connection. I can see on the online reader than when it breaks off the connection an when I stop the pump by hand I can see the connection restoring.

Do you have any idea of tests I can perform or alternatives for the loop to read out the data?

Hello Vincent,

So you always run both pieces of software (LabVIEW and the online reader) at the same time?

If this is the case, then this could be a possible reason for the experienced issues.

Hi Thierry

I tried this for a few times. Still the same happened. I am desperate for the moment. Do you see an other way how i can call this function or do the same?

Hello Vincent,

I have been Out of the Office (in Hungary) or sick at home the last week.

This thread is getting quite big so I would like to ask you if you can summarize what you have tested in the last week and a half.
Please also include the latest version of your code.
