Hi there,

What USB device are you using?  And how are you manually resetting it?  Most NI USB boards should have a VI you can call to reset the device as part of their drivers.

Hi Way S.
I know that the reset.vi is used for most NI products. But some non-NI products do not have reset.vi. I am using advantech USB-4716. So how do i make USB functions to reset it?
warm regards,
Clement

Hi astroboy

I am assuming that you have tried the driver from here and it is this that does not give you the ability to reset you device. Looking here you can find the driver in other forms.  You will need to check to see if either the dll or activeX driver will give you the functionally you require. See this KB for info on using activeX in LabVIEW and this KB for info on calling dlls.

Other than this it is probably a case of contacting the manufacturer to see if there devices have this functionality.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Dear Wolfson,

I hope you are well.  Your application sounds very interesting.  It appears that the USB-4716 is supported in LabVIEW through calls to some DLLs.  The user manual for the Advantech USB-4716 has some good information about installing the software and hardware.  The manual also gives some useful information about how to connect signals. Just to let you know, by default, you will not be able to see the device in MAX unless you follow the steps in the following tutorial.

I hope this helps,
