Unauthorized?

I had bookmarked a thread http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=247892 that contained a link

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/58BE852CB35237C786256A290079DF39 to a document that talked about a method to install a toolkit for multiple versions

of LV.  Now it just tells me I'm not authorized to view it.  Anyone happen to save and actual copy of the document?

I had a link to that same document, and that link appears in many threads. I'd also like to know why it's now "unauthorized".

I have had that happen to me too.  I post a link to a Knowledge Base and when I return to it at a (much) later date, I get that message.  I didn't bother asking why, but it would be interesting to know what happened?  and why it's now unauthorized?  I suspect the KB post was removed.... maybe..  but I do not know..

In this case it is very irritating.  LV 8.6 does not support the cFP-20xx family of controllers.  I need to migrate from 8.2 but still need to maintain support for a couple of cFP-2020's.  The info in that document would have been very helpful in figuring out my best options for maintaining two versions of a full development system.

Hello All,

The reason the KnowledgeBase article generates the “Unauthorized” message is because our Applications Engineers have archived the article. Most of the time this is because a more relevant or updated article supersedes the old document. All links between KnowledgeBase articles are always updated, however, it would not be practical or possible to go through all forum posts and update all links. By updating and archiving KnowledgeBase articles, we are able to provide the latest and most useful information to our customers.

In the case of this document entitled KB 44EF467N: Easy Method for Installing LabVIEW Toolkits in Multiple Versions of LabVIEW, the document has been archived and replaced by KB 288G6JB5: Installing Toolkits for Use with Multiple Versions of LabVIEW.

If this happens in the future with another link that appears as “Unauthorized”, please post to the forum that contained the link and ask what happened to the link. Or, search for the document ID on ni.com (in this case, it would be “58BE852CB35237C786256A290079DF39” ) and check out the results.

I hope this information helps you! 🙂

Note that I have requested for the document to be placed live on ni.com again. I will expedite this process, and the document should be live again very shortly.

Just an update.  Using the concepts from the KB that David provided the link to, I have been able to get the State Diagram Toolkit up and running with LV 8.2 and 8.6 on the same machine.  Smiley Happy  I still have more testing to finish but things appear to be working.  If time allows, I will document the exact steps I used and post them.
