Unusual issue with tag engine and BELKIN USB to Ethernet adapter??

I have an .scf file with 72 tags and several tag groups in it. If I open the tag engine without the usb adapter, I can read the tag group names with the get group list.vi. The tag group names are listed in black letters when wired to an indicator. When I plug in the usb ethernet adapter, immediately the group tag names are greyed out in the indicator without even running the vi. If I put a tag constant on the block diagram and try to select a tag name with the pointer, no tagnames pop up. It worked yesterday and my IT. department sent down a shockwave and flash5 update download when I booted up this morning. anyone have any ideas??

It may have been an issue with the way the tag groups were created. I had imported the list of tags and all column info from another file. The tag group names were already in one of the columns. I had not directly created them inside the tag configuration screen. I removed all tag group names and recreated the group names by using the tag configuration screen. Then I reassigned each tag to the appropriate group. Do you have to create the tag group names by using the tag configuration editor??

I am still seeing the tag groups disappear when I start the tag engine on labview7.0. I have several other programs running at the same time, KEPWARE, PROWORX NXT, USB to ethernet adapter. This is on a win2000 machine.

I talked with another customer that was seeing a very similar issue. He was able to fix it by doing a repair from Add/Remove Programs. The LabVIEW DSC installer shows up on Add/Remove Programs inside of National Instruments Software.

To repair LabVIEW DSC, click Change on National Instruments Software and then find LabVIEW DSC and click Repair.

Doing a repair did not seem to help. Should I do a mass compile??
