Is there a question?
If you're worried about using images on the FP, it depends - heavyweight images (I don't think Word's qualify) make your VI bigger, because they're stored in it and I think any image you use that has controls hovering over it causes redraws of the display more often (which does cost in performance). That said, I did use large images in VIs, with controls over them, with no problem, so the question is what you want the application to do. Try using the images. If you don't see any performance issues, you're cool.
