Using NI MyDAQ with NI MyDAQ multifunction device

To Whom It May Concern:

Recently, I've acquired the Labview student package (Multisim, Labview etc.), along with the NI MyDAQ multi-function device. My dilemma is that the Labview software package, expires in Sept 2020; thus I'm left with the NI MyDAQ multi-function device.  My questions to you are:

1. Will I be able to continue, to use my NI MyDAQ multi-functtion device, with the new Labview Community Edition (2020).

2. Will I be able to update  the hardware drivers (NI ELVIS, DAQmx etc.), so i can use it with the New Edition?

Please advise and thank you for your time and patience.😊

Your question, basically, is "Does LabVIEW 2020 Community Edition support NI Hardware, such as myDAQ, as well as packages such as NI MultiSim?".

This is an excellent question, one I have also asked in another Forum.  The Announcement for LabVIEW 2020 Community Edition, released yesterday, was that it was basically equivalent to the LabVIEW Professional suite, which includes DAQmx, NI ELVISmx (for the myDAQ), and possibly even MultiSim (I'm not certain about this one).  However, the current distribution of LabVIEW 2020 Community Edition does not (yet) include these Drivers, possibly because LabVIEW 2020 (not the Community Edition) has not been released, and the Drivers are "not quite ready" (pure conjecture on my part).

I just re-read your Post again (more carefully -- I'm sometimes careless on first reading, for which I apologize).  You say that you "acquired" the LabVIEW Student Package (and a myDAQ).  How?  Through your school?  Does your school have an Academic License for LabVIEW?  If so, you should be able to install the current version of LabVIEW (LabVIEW 2019) using their license, though they may want do handle the installation for you.

LabVIEW 2020 (the non-Community Edition) was due to be released during NIWeek 2020, i.e. this next week BCVID-19 (Before Corona Virus Infectious Disease 2019), so it is reasonable to hope that Drivers and other "bits" will be available before September 2020 when your Student license expires.
