Using NavX micro simultaneously with Motors on MyRIO?

Hello my name is Anro.

I have been struggling to get the NavX micro working simultaneously with any of the Pitsco motor/servo controllers on the MyRIO. I have tried using the NavX micro on the MXP-boards, although that worked for the NavX and motors, there was not enough current provided to the MXP-boards to power all the servos, but if I increased the current more than 2A, I would most definitely destroy the MXP-boards.

I then tried using a combination of the MXP- board in slot A and the Pitsco board in slot B.The MXP-board's purpose is only to control the NavX micro and get 4 IR sensor inputs, that are connected in AI0-AI3. The Pitsco board's purpose is only to control the 4 motors, 6 servos(using the Pitsco motor/servo controllers) and 4 IR sensor inputs in AI0-AI3. The MXP-board has 12VDC and 5V2A in the different allocations. The combination of boards had the same effect as using 2 Pitsco boards.(see attached photo of code used)The MyRIO would randomly choose a loop and only execute that loop and ignore the other loop. The error code is -61202. The error code means that the NavX micro and the I2C of the Pitsco motor/servo controllers can't run at the same time.

My problem is, I need the motors and NavX micro to run at the same time.

Kind regards

Anro

Hi Anro77,

This post seems to have slipped through the cracks here. There's another forum post with the same error that may help solve your issue. Otherwise, you'll get more visibility from other myRIO users if you post this question on the Academic Hardware forums.
