Using labview modbus library with siemens S7 1200 PLC

Hello All,

Is it possible to use the labview modbus library in order to communicate with SIEMESE S7 1200 plc.

I have looked the forum here and replies and, I did not understand why this library is not used. It is very puzzling. What am I missing?

The plc that I need to connect to has a modbus adapter and all of the I/O have modbus adress i.e four digit number.

Hi,

if your PLC has a modbus adapter then it is totally valid to connect to it via a LabVIEW modbus library.

However it is not standard to add such an adapter to a S7 1200 PLC hence you will not find many examples to that.
